ROBERT HOOVER

ATTORNEY

Robert Hoover graduated from the University of Colorado and received his Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois in 1993. As a trial lawyer and managing partner at Sloat, Nicholson & Hoover, P.C., in Boulder, Colorado, he has spent over three decades helping clients recover millions of dollars in compensation. His approach is deeply personal, recognizing that each client’s story is unique. Early in his career, he learned that representing injured people requires not only legal skill but also compassion, dedication, and credibility. Having experienced the impact of catastrophic injury within his own family, he understands firsthand what his clients face and is committed to preparing their cases meticulously. In his free time, Robert enjoys spending time outdoors, whether that be fishing in the rivers of Colorado or playing golf with his wife, Jane. He is a voracious reader and is learning to master the guitar.

JOHN DUGUAY

ATTORNEY

Mr. Duguay graduated from the University of Vermont in 2007. In 2011, Mr. Duguay received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Connecticut Law Review and a member of the Connecticut Moot Court Board. After law school, Mr. Duguay worked as assigned counsel for prison inmates challenging the constitutionality of their convictions through habeas corpus petitions. Shortly after relocating to Colorado in late 2015, Mr. Duguay joined one of Colorado’s largest personal injury firms, where he handled a wide variety of personal injury cases and developed his personal injury practice. Mr. Duguay later worked at a veterans’ disability practice and another large local personal injury firm prior to joining Sloat, Nicholson & Hoover, P.C. in January 2023.

Mr. Duguay currently lives in Denver, CO with his partner, Meryl, and their two young children. When he is able to take a break from court and advocating for his clients, he enjoys live music, learning to play hockey and guitar, and spending time with his family.

Sarah Latham-Timmons

Law Clerk

Sarah brings sharp legal insight, genuine compassion, and an exceptional work ethic to the team as our new law clerk. Now in her final year at the University of Colorado Law School, her academic achievements include being selected as a 2024 recipient of the Janet Jacobs Honors Colloquium for her undergraduate thesis. After graduating and passing the bar in 2027, she looks forward to continuing her work with the firm as an attorney. Whip-smart and unfailingly kind, Sarah already makes a meaningful impact on every client she works with. Outside the office, she is an avid horsewoman who enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, playing pickleball, and reading whenever she can.

Marla Mykleby

Senior Paralegal

Marla was born and raised in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. She has been a personal injury paralegal for the past 29 years. She loves working with her clients and being able to help them navigate this event in their lives. Prior to relocating to Boulder and joining Sloat, Nicholson and Hoover, P.C. in 2013, Marla worked as a paralegal in 3 other states including South Dakota, Illinois and Arizona. In her free time she enjoys spending time in the mountains, playing with her 3 pugs, spending time on her patio, entertaining and digital scrapbooking.

Mallorie

Paralegal

Mallorie is our resident mountain goat. An accomplished mountain climber, she has climbed some of the tallest and most technically challenging mountains in the world, alongside guiding other climbers and teaching avalanche safety courses. Mallorie joined SNH in 2026, following her passion for advocacy and helping others. Mallorie has a degree in Journalism from Western Washington University ’15 and is currently pursuing her paralegal certificate. An eternal optimist and bright presence, she makes a fantastic addition to the SNH team.

Gwen Lopez

Office Manager

Originally from the Los Angeles area, Gwen moved to Colorado in 2019. Her early work in immigration law sparked a passion for justice and helping others, ultimately leading her to pursue a career in the legal field. As Office Manager at Sloat, Nicholson & Hoover, P.C., Gwen’s strong communication skills and attention to detail help keep the team organized and running smoothly. She is currently working toward her bachelor’s degree in History at the University of Colorado Boulder. In her spare time, Gwen is an accomplished baker, known for treating the office to her mouthwatering homemade desserts.

Sarah Catherine Hoover

Marketing Director

Sarah grew up in the mountains of Colorado, where she developed a love for hiking, skiing, and outdoors. She attended Millbrook Preparatory School in New York, where she served as a Prefect and Dorm Leader, excelled as a three-sport varsity athlete, and consistently earned honor roll recognition. She went on to study at the University of Santa Clara for two years before taking time off to focus on her health. Her interest in law was sparked by her father, Robert, whose stories of helping others seek justice left a lasting impact. Sarah Catherine joined Sloat, Nicholson & Hoover, P.C. in 2023 and brings enthusiasm, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the legal field. Outside of work, she is an avid reader, a ceramics enthusiast, and a passionate supporter of the arts. She is returning to University of Colorado – Boulder, to complete her bachelor’s degree in 2026.

Sonia Galindo

Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Sonia joins us as our new receptionist and administrative assistant. Native to Colorado, she has worked for the public defender’s office, the public school system in Denver, and in community spaces such as her church. She brings a calming spirit and steady support for our legal team. Sonia enjoys spending time with her three kids and her husband and is excited to connect with our clients through their claims process.
