Meet our experienced personal injury law attorneys and staff at Sloat, Nicholson & Hoover, P.C.
We remember our founding partner, Gerald C. “Jerry” Sloat, who passed away on October 31, 2024. A 1969 graduate of the Syracuse University School of Law, Jerry began his career on Wall Street before moving to Boulder in 1971 to establish our law firm with a commitment to delivering exceptional legal advocacy for personal injury victims.
Jerry was a passionate supporter of numerous community organizations and served with dedication on the boards of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, Boulder Community Health, the Boulder County Bar Association, the Boulder County Bar Foundation, and the Grief Support Network. He championed causes close to his heart, actively supporting the Anti-Defamation League, the American Civil Liberties Union, the American Association for Justice, and many local Boulder County charities.
Jerry leaves behind his wife, Gail; his sons, Adam and Daniel; his daughter, Emily; and four cherished grandchildren.
A fierce yet friendly advocate for justice, Jerry represented over three thousand clients throughout his distinguished career and mentored dozens of lawyers in the specialized field of personal injury law. Respected by his peers and beloved by many, he is remembered for his compassion, generosity, legal expertise, leadership, kindness, and warm presence. His legacy of unwavering dedication to the pursuit of justice and community involvement will be profoundly missed.
